Flamingo cottageWalvis Bay, Namibia

The thatched, white-washed cottages, loosely based on the fishermen's houses in the Cape , are situated right on the waters' edge of the Walvis Bay lagoon.

A protected wetland, it is the ideal spot for birdwatchers. Large groups of greater and lesser flamingoes, pelicans, waders and a wide variety of other birds are to be seen here.

For those who enjoy walking, watersports or simply relaxing at the seaside, this is the place to be. The flowerbeds, undulating lawns and palm trees of the spacious gardens provide the perfect backdrop
